Thu Dec 24, 2009, 2:53 PM
叮叮当...叮叮当...it is snowing...

And I am very much happy for the whiteness that covers the outside.
It is so relaxing... I have not seen the snow for a long time.

...looks like I might have a white Christmas, after all.

Best wishes to all of you!

Latest Update:
12/12/09~~New (unofficial) reference sheet posted, purely for visual reference only. Obviously due to the fact that I did not list any info on the deviation. Just a simple work for your eyes.

12/08/09~~The tournament has begun. I am paired up with ~emerald-moonlight. Looks like I have good competition from the start. This is great. Six weeks time to work... so I shall get started.

12/07/09~~Previous system issues have been resolved. I have purged the ZIP Archives from the files and replaced them with PDF functional copies for your convenience. PDF FILES ALSO HAS COMMENTARY (ESPECIALLY WITH PROLOGUE PART 2, cause I made edits to that file). Needless to say, if you do not want my commentary, you do not have to read them.

12/06/09~~CHECK THE CONGLOMERATE INDEX (SCROLL DOWN). All of the audition is in, download the file archives to read the pages. Thank you.

12/03/09~~CHECK THE CONGLOMERATE INDEX (SCROLL DOWN). Released the two Nightmares, final concept (give or take minor details) for the tournament. Make sure you note that Amy is no longer a weapon. Thank you.

11/29/09~~CHECK THE CONGLOMERATE INDEX (SCROLL DOWN). Released part 1 and part 2 text copy of audition (intro). Ya, I am doing a story. Read if you have interest.

10/29/09~~Inactivity dully noted, I am actually still working and coming up with a functional story. Illustrations will accompany my storyline. Some of it. Please hold. . .

9/17/09~~Hit a minor snag with competition regs! I will be up and running, hopefully very soon, while I try to fix some minor details. Or major details, depending on perspective.

9/16/09~~Updated FAQ segment. Added misc. objects. If you are curious, I have three pages of audition installment drawn, and introduction storyline is established...

8/27/09~~Reference sheet for my character is released. See the Conglomerate Index.

:bulletpink: OCT Character info/FAQ

Uhm. Hmm. This space reserved for those who are needing info and stuffs when we actually do OCT. Right now, will be mostly blank...ish.

:bulletblack: Wah! You drew your character with a mask! Who is your character? What does he/she look like? How old is your character?!?!?
>You do NOT get to know what she looks like yet. Yes, she is a girl. If you must know, her age is around nineteen-twentyish...ish. Give or take.

:bulletblack: Your character, is she an aggressive attacker or a passive defender?
>Not only defensive, she is almost evasive. She does not trust a lot of people... they tend to be hurtful.

:bulletblack: Amy is no longer a weapon? Why not???
>She is now an "Environmental Hazard", meaning that she is more or less a plant-like entity capable of rendering the immediate environment a dangerous place to be for her enemies. She is aggressive and efficient. I am going to allow some liberties as to how you portray Amy creating hazardous environments.

:bulletblack: Inanis, then?
>Right now, Inanis is kinda hurt. It is bound to the body of the Host, and manifests as shadow shreds, bubbly orbs of void, basically, and serves as primary defense, like a living shield (not armor). Inanis is also able to attack, creating a rift to an abyssal void which consumes more energy than anyone would willingly contribute...

:bulletblack: Wait... something happened here. Your character just went into scraps... what's going on?
>You are dumb for not reading the text above. There is some details which I need to adjust on my character to fit within the acceptable parameters of the tourney. So... ya. I will not change too much.

:bulletblack: BUT I AM A PERFECTIONIST! I am detail-oriented and I go crazy if I can't make all the details fit! Will you help me?
>If you are doing a comic, and need some pointers or details, I will be happy to elaborate. Oh, just for your information, Amy talks the most. Her speech bubble should be black/dark blue, outlined in pink, and text in pink. Inanis also speaks, but rarely, and the speech bubble should be a blue-green themed bubble. The Host does not speak yet. I will let you know what is needed if she does...

:bulletblack: So much for "frequently asked questions"!!! You didn't answer my question! How am I supposed to know what to do now?
>If you have good, legit questions, ask them here or note me, I do not mind. This FAQ segment will expand as needed. Remember I has right to withhold info I feel may compromise storyline or seriously jeopardize my chance of winning (as in, what is the easiest way to chop up your character into fifty bits and serve the remains as sushi?). But I am not an evil monster, so do not be afraid to ask!

No, not really.

But I am going to complete a completely unnecessary survey for your entertainment. Annoyance. Whichever you choose.

Artist Baton】

◆Your name?
Keep it short. Aeon.

◆If possible, your age?
I am sixteen.

◆When did you start drawing?
Umm. I do not know... but I have been.

◆Which hand do you use for drawing?
I am not ambidextrous. So choose, one or the other. You have a 50% chance of getting it!

◆Which is easier to draw - male or female?
Iunno. They are both human figures, unique and interesting in their own way. It is like asking me to compare which instrument is harder, piano or violin.

◆Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
Short hair. It requires more neatness and the presence of a perfect hairline, which I hate, both in real life and in art.

◆Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
Well, technically, they are both the same. But because of the hand I use, one side is slightly easier than the other.

◆Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
Neither. I hate symmetry and awkward-perfect-side/front view-ness. I always tilt the head somewhat. Well, not always. I lie... I still do front views quite often.

◆What problems do you have in drawing?
Count to a million and multiply by the biggest number you can think of, and then square it.
Anyways. Mostly proportion. I am not a complete suicidal idiot when it comes to realism, mostly because I know I cannot really do such things, but I always, always kill myself when it comes to proportion.
Stupid, really, because it never works.
And then, of course, I am a detail-oriented person in art, so...
And with technicals,
one HUGE problem is the lack of a tablet, the fact there is NOT a "ctrl-Z" maneuver in real life, and my hands have no precision at all.
I could rant forever, but you would lose interest.
Proceed.

◆What do you like to draw?
Pretty things people like to look at.
For example, dead stuff. Zombified humans. A girl chained up in the midst of hell and pitch-black bubbly stuff rising up from the ground to eat her.
...why are you staring at me?

◆Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
TRADITION.
al.
Well, mix. Cause I pencil and paper, and then photoshop for color.

◆Where do you start drawing from?
Head to toe, then add arms. Or head to hips, arms, the attach legs in segments.
Head first, though. Always. Least painful way to die.
Easiest way to capture the essence of a character from the start.

◆What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
I disagree with you, Dar. Heads first. My drawing habit is that I take a lot of breaks, yell at people, annoy teachers, read books, watch TV, play video games, and go to the bathroom a lot during the entire process. It works for me, though.

◆What do you keep in mind when you do lineart?
I keep my visionary in my mind. And the passion in my heart.
Then good pictures that I hope to draw on paper never come.

◆Any tips for coloring/shading?
No.

◆How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
I do not know anymore. It used to be really quick. But now, since I have progressed such a long way from before, I take my time. A lot of time.

◆What music do you listen to while you draw?
Music. Music. I think just about anything that does not turn my brain into hot wax works. So no country or death-metal-screechy-scream-out-your-lungs music.

◆How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
Spontaneously, so as soon as I have inspiration.
Unfortunately, the idea is always fluid, and keeps changing as I keep it in my head. And I come out with ideas faster than I put them down on paper, so that is kinda a stupid thing, too.

◆Your favorite drawing utensils?
Pencil. Paper. Clipboard. Kneaded eraser. Pink Pearl eraser. Blood. Death...
...the last two are often optional.

◆Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
Blue. Grey. Either one.

◆Your favorite style(s)?
Eh... mine. I am often inspired by :etoli: and the artists of the sort.

◆Are you satisfied with your current art?
No. Heck no. Are you kidding me?

◆What kind of artist are you aiming for?
THE KIND THAT WILL NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER!!
Well, not really. Just me.

◆Thank you. Now please fill in the next columns by writing the names of the artists that match the criteria. Artists tagged must fill in this baton.

I REFUSE TO TAG CAUSE ONLY PEOPLE WHO WANT TO DO IT WILL DO IT.
IMMA TAKE MY VACATION NOW SO GOOD RIDDANCE.

And best wishes.
